Release Date: 18 September 2023
Last Updated: 19 September 2023

System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) is available only with Okta customers. SCIM is currently not supported for Amazon Business Punchout.

  • What is System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM)?
System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) for Amazon Business is an add-on Single Sign-on feature that allows customer company administrators to sync users and groups data from their Identity Provider (IdP) with their Amazon Business account, and centralize permissions and group membership management from within their IdP. By doing so, companies can automate Amazon Business account user onboarding, offboarding and group management at scale.

  • How does it work?
Okta customers will see the Provisioning feature enabled for the Amazon Business app within their Okta environment. To implement SCIM, customers should reach out to their Amazon Business Customer Advisor. The integration process is currently not self-service.

  • What are the customer benefits?
The SCIM launch allows Amazon Business account administrators automate user and group provisioning, allowing them to spend less time on account maintenance while still maintaining compliance and control. Amazon Business’ existing SSO integration gives customers to easily access Amazon Business by using their company’s Identity Provider (IdP) single sign-on credentials. Without SCIM, when employees join, leave, or move within a company, Amazon Business account administrators must manually update their employees' membership within their Amazon Business account. With SCIM, administrators can automatically sync their user and group data in Amazon Business with customers' IdP data.

  • Where are we launching?
This launch is available to customers worldwide.
