Organizations have never had to work harder, faster, or longer to stay compliant and remain on budget. That's why Amazon Business is excited to introduce Share Cart, a new collaborative shopping feature that lets teams shop together, enforce buying policies, and unlock shared savings.
Coordinating team purchases is harder than it should be. A staff member finds what they need, copies a link into an email, and waits. A buyer opens each link, hunts for pricing, checks the request against policy, reaches out to the requestor to figure out why they need this product now, and re-enters quantities by hand. Across a department, a school district, or a large organization, those steps add up to real time lost.
Share Cart gives teams an easier way to purchase together, no spreadsheets required. Requestors pick the items they need, add optional context notes explaining what's needed and by when, and share their cart in a few clicks. Buyers see who's asking, what they need, what it costs, and whether the purchase is compliant—all before checkout.
Getting started is simple. Requestors add items to their cart, click "Share," and include a short note with context about the item. From there, they can look up a colleague by name or email, or generate a shareable link to send through email, internal messaging platform, or another channel.
Recipients open the shared cart and see individual item prices and the total cart value upfront—no clicking into product pages, no manual re-entry of quantities. Embedded purchasing controls ensure that only authorized buyers can complete checkout, keeping your Approval workflows intact and your policies enforced.
Need to share only part of a cart? Checkboxes let requestors select specific items rather than the whole thing.
Share Cart supports several common procurement scenarios:
Team purchase requests: Staff who can't complete purchases build carts and hand them off to an authorized buyer—with full item details and pricing ready to act on.
Compliance-controlled purchasing: Organizations with strict Approval workflows use embedded purchasing controls to reduce policy violations and keep audit reporting clean.
Consolidated order savings: Teams can combine multiple requests into fewer, larger orders to unlock Quantity Discounts and reduce overall shipping costs.
Multi-location fulfillment: Buyers can use the ship cart items to multiple addresses option to ship items to different departments or buildings in a single order.
E-procurement: Enterprise customers using Punchout or integrations can share and receive carts within their active session, without disrupting their existing procurement setup.
Share Cart access is now included with every Amazon Business account. There's nothing to install, no new tool to learn, and no separate login required.
The next time your team needs to buy together, build a cart, add your context, and click Share.
