New AbilityOne® Storefront

Find all AbilityOne® and Skilcraft® items in one spot.

Amazon Business is proud to support programs that leverage the purchasing power of the federal government to support the businesses of small or underrepresented groups, such as people who are blind or have significant disabilities. In collaboration with National Industries for the Blind (NIB), we launched the AbilityOne® storefront on Amazon Business, a convenient way for federal government customers to shop for AbilityOne® and SKILCRAFT® items in one convenient location.

What is the AbilityOne Program?

For over 80 years, the AbilityOne Program has worked to tap America’s underutilized workforce of people who are blind or have significant disabilities to deliver high-quality, mission-essential products and services to federal purchasers. Through its national network of associated nonprofit agencies, the program employs more than 36,000 people, making it one of the largest employment resources in the United States for people who are blind or have significant disabilities. First authorized in 1938 and expanded under the 1971 Javits-Wagner-O’Day (JWOD) Act, the AbilityOne Program is a mandatory source of supply, providing thousands of products and services to federal customers. In 2022, government agencies purchased $3.9 billion worth of products and services through AbilityOne.

Products and services sold under the SKILCRAFT brand, which is owned and licensed by National Industries for the Blind, are produced by people who are blind. Government customers can choose from thousands of quality SKILCRAFT products at fair market prices through the AbilityOne Program.

AbilityOne and SKILCRAFT in one convenient spot on Amazon Business

The newly launched AbilityOne storefront on Amazon Business combines the selection, convenience, and value of Amazon to help government buyers meet their federal purchasing requirements under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 8.7 and the JWOD Act. Federal customers can now find procurement-compliant AbilityOne and SKILCRAFT products, including writing instruments, office supplies, cleaning and janitorial supplies, and more in one convenient place. Account administrators can steer buyers to these brands with Guided Buying tool, a Business Prime feature that will automatically mark these types of sellers as preferred for purchasers.

"We’re pleased that our government customers can enjoy the convenience of Amazon Business when shopping for SKILCRAFT and AbilityOne products,” said NIB President and CEO Kevin Lynch. “We look forward to a productive collaboration with Amazon to meet the evolving needs of government and support the employment of Americans who are blind or have significant disabilities.”

As an authorized AbilityOne provider and part of the GSA Commercial Platforms Program, Amazon Business is committed to expanding our selection of mandatory sources for federal government customers and to making it easy and convenient for them to meet federal spending requirements by offering the intuitive and easy-to-use interface the world has come to expect from Amazon.
