Amazon Business Reshape 2022: Newly-expanded global procurement event now on-demand

Learn how business and industry experts are using the latest purchasing strategies and technology to drive their businesses forward with all sessions now available to stream.

Amazon Business Reshape 2022, the premier event for procurement professionals across enterprise, public sector, and SMB, launched globally for the first time on March 9th and 10th. This year’s event engaged over 50,000 procurement and business leaders with peer-to-peer thought leadership sessions, panel presentations, and product deep dives in an online event experience.

Procurement’s expanding strategic role within organizations and how digitalization is helping business leaders achieve their goals emerged as one of the most talked about themes at the virtual event, along with a focus on procurement as part of a sustainable strategy.

Main stage highlights from Amazon Business Reshape 2022 include:

Procurement strategies for the c-suite: Strategic sourcing continues to be a leadership priority to drive organizational objectives such as cost reduction, digital transformation, and responsible purchasing. In this keynote session, Shashi Mandapaty, Chief Procurement Officer, Corporate Tier at Johnson & Johnson; Barilla Group’s Purchasing Director for Indirect Materials, Services, Energy, and Investments, Eliano Apicella; and Tomohiko Honma, Director of Finance and Accounting at Woven Planet Holdings talked about how they are using digital purchasing solutions to build supply resiliency, enhance productivity, and promote their strategic purchasing goals.

Meeting business objects with purchasing agility: Organizations are recalibrating what it means to be both efficient and agile. Endre Støgård, Global Category Director for Accenture, talked about using agile procurement processes to adapt decentralized work environments and manage risk exposure while building supplier redundancy.

"Amazon’s vast logistics network is certainly a big benefit for Accenture as a truly global workforce that are now disparate in villages, cities and towns all over the world."

— Endre Støgård, Global Category Director, Accenture

Delivering on the digital agenda: Digitizing procurement operations has allowed many organizations to meet sourcing demands, boost productivity, and optimize costs. Kuwait Petroleum International’s Chief of IT, Vincenzo Maniaci, shared ways to use intelligent procurement, powered by machine learning and analytics, to simplify processes and make better data-driven decisions.

Empowering employees with digital purchasing: For businesses of any size, digitalization is no longer an option. Darryl Stead, Head of Procurement EMEA for Link Group and Harry Walker, Procurement Manager UK for Busy Bees, shared how they are simplifying employee purchasing with a one-stop shopping experience, customized buying policies, and convenient delivery options—all with the familiar purchasing experience of Amazon.

Fostering socially responsible procurement: Even with environmental and sustainability goals in place, many organizations don’t have effective sourcing strategies or the right technology to purchase more responsibly. Union Pacific’s General Director of Supplier Diversity and Procurement Operations, Andrea Deichert Oswald, discussed identifying, sourcing, and tracking spend from credentialed diverse, local, and small businesses, and products with sustainability certifications.

"With Amazon Business, we give our employees access to something that many of them already know how to use. Ultimately, digital procurement streamlines processes and helps employees focus on meeting supplier diversity goals."

— Andrea Oswald, General Director of Procurement Operations and Supplier Diversity, Union Pacific
