Amazon Business today announced the kick-off of Small Business Month focused on deals, insights, and tools for solopreneurs and small business owners to enhance their smart business buying capabilities and scale their businesses. This first-ever event is exclusive to small business customers.
The Small Business Summit will be held on September 8 at 9 AM PDT, a free virtual summit featuring actionable insights from experts, including Amazon Business leaders, entrepreneurs turned best-selling authors and top industry experts. Registration is free and open to all entrepreneurs and small business owners. Those unable to attend the summit may still complete registration and access on demand content afterward. Learn more.
Among the Amazon Business success stories featured at the Small Business Summit is Jim VanNatta, owner and operator of Hockinson Market in Clark County Washington. The small country store’s growth came to a halt during the 2008 recession, and with a little creativity and experimentation, Jim pivoted his business, transforming Hockinson Market into a thriving pizza shop and taproom. A long-time personal Amazon shopper, Jim joined Amazon Business to simplify his bookkeeping, save on essentials, and benefit from faster deliveries with Business Prime. Today, he’s proud to be building a healthy family business that he can pass to his son, and current co-manager, Justin.
Also featured during the summit is Andy Wallace, who in 2019 was given the opportunity to take over co-ownership from the retiring founder of Computer House Call. Andy and his colleague had both worked as IT consultants at the company for several years and had a vision to grow the brand and help more customers with everything from email training to fixing network issues. Three years later, Computer House Call acquired another company to expand their services, and today uses Amazon Business to buy computers, parts, and IT peripherals to help service their clients. Andy particularly likes Amazon Business’ wide selection, business-only pricing, and as a reseller, he can benefit from the Amazon Tax Exemption Program.
During the summit, Amazon Business announced the launch of the Small Business Grants program awarding more than $250,000 in business grants to a handful of growing small businesses. Existing Amazon Business customers with annual revenues of $1 million or less can apply for a grant. There will be one grand prize winner and a group of finalists and semi-finalists receiving monetary grants, Business Prime Memberships, Amazon Web Services credits and training benefits, and more. Applications are due by September 30, and winners will be announced on October 25. Apply now!
Small Business Month will also include Small Business Deals Week from September 12 through 18 when Amazon Business will offer compelling, discounted exclusive pricing promotions for small business customers. Categories of discount promotions include PCs, office products, home and furniture items, devices, and more.
Small business owners can also get Business Prime Duo free for their first year through a special promotion in conjunction with Small Business Month.
