Shipping Fee order safeguard changes for Punchout customers

To help drive compliance and save time, Amazon Business account administrators can turn on the Shipping Fee order safeguard for orders submitted through e-procurement systems.
15 January 2026

What are Shipping Fee order safeguard changes?

When an Amazon Business administrator switches this order safeguard on, it will apply to their business’ orders. If administrators keep it off, there is no change to the integrated ordering experience for buyers. This feature can help reduce retroactive order reconciliation because the shipping charge order safeguard can be applied to Punchout orders and is applicable on all orders without any conditions.

How does it work?

  1. Account administrators can go to Purchasing System Settings and select Order Safeguards
  2. Toggle on the Shipping fee order safeguard and specify the percentage of shipping fees for your order total.
  3. If at 0, this means the administrator does not want buyers to accept shipping charges, and with this safeguard set at 0, the order with shipping charges will be automatically rejected.

Where is it available?

This feature is available to Amazon Business account administrators in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, and Japan.
