The smart business buying experience doesn’t stop when customers complete a purchase, or even when their product arrives. Small businesses and large organizations alike know that reconciling multiple shipments against orders can be time consuming. That’s why we’ve introduced “Charge Identifier” field in Amazon Business Analytics (ABA) order and reconciliation reports, making it easier for customers to match an order to a corresponding credit/debit card charge.
Multiple shipments and charges are a common occurrence for many Amazon Business customers. ‘Charge Identifier’ is a unique code to each charge, which allows them to more easily manage their finances.
“Nearly 48% of our payment-related customer service contacts are due to issues matching orders with charges,” said Madelyn Puente, Director, Amazon Business Payments. “The data told us this was a big problem for our customers, so we’re thrilled to roll out a feature like ‘Charge Identifier’ that gets to the heart of the issue.”
Customers can now add the ‘Charge Identifier’ field via ‘Payments Info’ in their orders report, and via ‘Transaction Info’ in their reconciliations report. The field can be enabled by using the adjust column capability within each report.

This feature helps customers in US, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Spain navigate from their orders to their credit/debit card statements. This saves them time determining which charges are attributed to which shipments, and gives them confidence that they’ve accurately accounted for all relevant charges. ‘Charge Identifier’ is available for transactions made after April 1, 2024.
Customers can learn more about how to use this new feature by visiting our Unknown Charge help page from ABCS (Amazon Business Customer Service). Here, they can find clear instructions and guidance on how to use the "charge id" field to match credit card charges with orders.
“Charge Identifier gets us one step closer to achieving our goal of providing customers with the best possible business shopping experience,” said Puente. “With this enhanced visibility, customers can manage their finances with confidence and ease.”
