Prime Day preparation for Amazon Business customers using e-procurement integrations

Read these tips to take advantage of Prime Day deals.

Amazon’s Prime Day event is July 16-17, 2024. Business Prime customers can practice smart business buying this Prime Day by taking advantage of amazing deals from top brands and diverse sellers across categories like office supplies, JanSan products, IT peripherals and breakroom essentials.

Here are tips to help customers using e-procurement integrations like Punchout prepare to take advantage of these limited-time Prime Day deals.

For integrated customers using Punchout:

  • Discounted pricing, coupons, Today’s Deals, and Lightning Deals are offered for a limited time and in limited quantities. When taking advantage of these deals, finalize your requisitions in your e-procurement system quickly, and encourage your Approver to review your orders ASAP.
  • Amazon can only honor a deal if it is still active and if inventory is still available when the Purchase Order (PO) is received. Orders may be canceled if POs are received after a deal ends or is exhausted.
  • Discounts may not be visible on the requisition in your e-procurement system but should be applied on the invoice.

For approvers within an e-procurement system:

  • You may see an uptick in approval requests during the event. To ensure your buyers can take advantage of limited-time deals, prioritize your approval requests. Consider reviewing orders as they are submitted, not in bulk at the end of the day or a later date.
  • If you’ll be out of office or busy during the event, consider temporarily delegating approval responsibilities in your e-procurement system to a teammate with bandwidth.

For e-procurement administrators:

  • Ensure key buyers and users have access to Amazon Business and your e-procurement system prior to Prime Day to mitigate last-minute access requests.
  • Review your credit line and/or budgets to ensure capacity for a potential influx of purchasing. Work with your Account Executive now on overdue balances, budget updates, and credit line increases.
