Program Dashboard gives Business Prime members insights for smart spend decisions

New dashboard from Amazon Business Analytics arms customers with more data to optimize program-specific spend

Amazon Business Analytics recently announced the launch of the Program Dashboard — a one-stop shop for Business Prime members to review relevant metrics and visualizations pertaining to specific programs within their account.

This new dashboard monitors key metrics and provides spend visualizations to optimize agreements in different categories via managed spend or curated catalogs, such as IT spending or JanSan. The experience is unique to each organization’s managed spend programs, allowing teams to track program details, spend analytics, and other KPIs with greater ease, and automation.

“The Program Dashboard feature offers a full spectrum of data-driven procurement improvements that can help our business customers keep track of their managed spend program,” Chief Technology Officer Doug Gray said during his remarks at Amazon Business Reshape 2024 in Dallas on Sept. 24. “Having clear, comprehensive data at your fingertips is a foundational improvement as we prepare our organizations for a future where AI is inevitably playing a bigger role. That data will enable us to achieve more strategic decision making, from enhanced supplier search experiences to more detailed spend analysis.“

At the top of the Business Prime exclusive dashboard is the Program Selection dropdown, which acts as a one-stop solution for our customers to choose the program for which they want to see data.

From there, customers can view relevant metrics and visualizations that populate below, which provide a personalized experience. Those key data points that can help customers keep track of their program performance start at a high level, showcasing program timelines, overall spend, and duration.

Program Dashboard key performance indicators

As they scroll down the report, customers can see views on program savings, orders delivered, average cost per-order, item readouts, and account information like how many users have spent on the program, as well as top buyers. These insights help customers get a sense for how they are trending toward their key goals with customers having the ability to drill down within the experience. The dashboard shows breakouts for spend and savings over time, top items purchased, top UNSPSC class by spend, and top UNSPSC commodity by spend. It also guides customers with recommended Amazon Business features where they can take actions like setting buying policies or managing users, or dig into more detailed reporting.

Program Dashboard deeper key performance indicators

Ultimately, the Program Dashboard gives Business Prime members the tools they need to be more self-sufficient, arming them with more data so that they can take action within the dashboard. It also showcases the budgeting and savings power that come with being an Amazon Business customer — giving those who manage procurement the chance to clearly reference wins and opportunity areas for their leaders.

“We’ll continue adding to our vast Amazon Business Analytics product suite, but that work isn’t being done in a vacuum,” says Senior Product Manager, Vikram Ramadoss. “Between numerous feedback sessions and UX research, we’ve heard from our customers that there’s a need to pair program spend data with opportunities to take action within the account. Together, these help organizations become more agile, especially when account administrators are a team of one or very few.”

The Program Dashboard is now available for Business Prime members in the United States who enroll into managed spend or curated catalog programs starting September 23, 2024.
