Amazon Business Analytics adds ‘Charge Identifier’ feature

New unique 'Charge Identifier' field makes it easier for customers to reconcile orders against payments
Release Date: 06 June 2024
Last Updated: 12 June 2024

‘Charge Identifier’ field will be available to customers in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France, and Spain.

  • What is ‘Charge Identifier’?
‘Charge Identifier’ enables customers to self-identify their credit/debit card charges and match them with their corresponding Amazon Business order.
  • How does it work?
The 'Charge Identifier' field is included in ABA order and reconciliation reports, allowing customers to view the unique identifier for each charge. This identifier will be linked to the corresponding order number, enabling customers to easily match their credit card charges with their orders.
  • What is the benefit for customers?
Amazon prioritizes quicker delivery of items to customers, which at times may result in multiple shipments and charges for a single order. This can lead to confusion when trying to reconcile credit card statements with Amazon orders. Without clear visibility into which charge corresponds to which items in a order, customers may feel uncertain and confused, leading to a negative customer experience.
  • Where is this feature available?
In the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France, and Spain. Note ‘Charge Identifier’ is available for transactions made after April 1, 2024.
