What is Amazon Business Configurable Payments Restrictions?
Configurable Payments Restrictions enable Amazon Business customer account administrators to restrict payment methods to a General Services Administration (GSA) SmartPay card and/or purchasing cards (p-cards) directly in their Shared Wallet Settings. Customers can also toggle the restriction on/off for exceptions where they would like to allow alternative payment methods (e.g. allowing personal card use for an emergency, or redeeming of gift cards provided as part of a program or incentive to employees).

How does Configurable Payments Restrictions functionality work?
This feature ensures compliance with organization policies and tax exempt status by preventing the use of personal payment methods. Legal entity administrators can navigate to Business Settings, and select Payment Methods to configure payment restrictions for individual and shared payment methods to allow for GSA and/or p-cards at the account level. When an organization’s buyers check out, only eligible payment methods are shown for selection on the Payment Selection page. Payment methods are validated when placing Subscribe & Save orders, revising payment, and adding new payment methods during checkout.

What is the benefit to the customer?
Some customers, particularly public sector organizations, risk tax exemption qualification if their buyers use personal payment methods for Amazon Business purchases. Configurable Payments Restrictions give customers a scalable solution to ensure compliance with procurement policies by limiting buyers to eligible payment methods.

Where is this feature available?
