What is Proactive Budgeting?
Proactive Budgeting is a new feature within Budget Management that allows administrators to create allocation rules for a group that automatically allocate user-level budgets to users as they join the group. Previously, admins had to periodically monitor when new members are added to the group and manually assign allocations to the newly added users. These buyers will be assigned a budget allocation immediately upon joining the group without manual intervention from groups administrators and they can begin purchasing without delays.

How does it work?

  1. Visit Business Settings.
  2. Select Budgets (Blanket POs) under Billing & shipping.
  3. Create a Blanket PO, input details, set a budget amount, and set start and end dates.
  4. Go to the PO and click Add allocations under the Allocations section.
  5. Click Add allocation and click Set automatic allocation.
  6. Turn on automatic allocations and determine the amount to automatically assign to each new member. Click Save.
  7. This page shows allocations and will show that automatic allocations are turned on. Click Save.

What is the benefit for customers?
Proactive Budgets streamline the process of assigning user-level budgets to new users by removing the need to manually look for new users and then allocate funds.

Where is this feature available?
Proactive Budgeting is available to all Amazon Business customers worldwide.
